Miss Wilderness Circuit queen pageant

September 11-12, 2009 was the Wilderness Circuit queen contest. I had the opportunity to make table centerpieces for the luncheon. I arranged sunflowers, blue delphinium, and red pixie carnations with some rustic looking boxwood for greenery and some grasses and thistle seed pods in cowboy boots. We set them on bandannas in the middle of the table with a rope coiled around them. The whole room looked so festive. For the royalty bouquets I used a medium pink rose with white monte casino and curly lily grass. I never got a very good picture of the bouquets but you can see it here a little bit with the newly crowned Chenae Shiner.

Miss Rodeo Utah roses

These are the roses I made for Miss Rodeo Utah. I was a little worried about the colors being so bright. But they turned out so pretty and especially eye-catching in the pictures. I had LOTS of compliments and the ribbon ended up matching the winners outfit. Congratulations to Miss Rodeo Utah 2009 Chris Wade. Very fun celebration this year being the 75th anniversary of Ogden Pioneer Days. I found the cutest rhinestone-y bees to put in the bouquets. Hopefully you can see them in the pictures. A little extra special for a special anniversary.

Bear River Bird Refuge Movie Premiere Night

June 19th, 2009
A special movie premiere night was held to showcase the new PBS documentary on the Bear River Bird Refuge. It was a black tie affair with many dignitaries present and many who have been long time supporters of the bird refuge.
I was asked to provide red roses for the occasion. I made 4 dozen rose size arrangements that were placed on pillars in the main lobby. Then for the cocktail tables there were single roses in budvases. And on the buffet table was a large ice sculpture of a swan. I put several roses around the base of it for color.
SO BEAUTIFUL! I was wishing I would have dressed up and stayed.
What a fantastic facility they have there at the visitor's center.
Any of you who haven't been there yet should go. Especially those of us who live in the bird refuge's 'backyard'. We really should know what wonderful things we have here in our community. (Plus, if any of you have cub scouts...this could be passed off towards one of their achievements!)
I need to go back and spend more time enjoying it and not fussing with roses!

Miss Rodeo Ogden 2009
These pictures didn't turn out so well, but the bouquets are similar in style to ones previously posted. The roses are a hot fuscia pink. Kind of funny, because they matched one of the girls dresses exactly!

A wrist corsage for junior prom. This is no ordinary wristlet. It's a bracelet made from aluminum wire and the flowers are attached to it. Very pretty. Very stylish and adjustable! If you want something different for the dance this is a great idea! The flowers are freesia with an irridescent ribbon. This corsage style would be very nice for a wedding for bridesmaids or flower girls, especially.

Wedding flowers. The colors were white and turquoise (in case you can't tell! :)
The bridal bouquet was all white flowers. Lilies, gerbera daisies, tulips, stephanotis. Very pretty and elegant.

A sympathy arrangement for a dear friend from Syracuse. The tractor is stained glass made by my mom. He was a farmer so we personalized the arrangement with that sun catcher.
p.s. this arrangement has 25 roses in it.

Any occasion arrangement. This one was for a girl who had to put her horse down.
